How to: Create a Text Message

How to create or edit an existing text message:

  1. Create a message or locate the message you want to edit.

  2. Within the Contents section of a Messageselect the Start or Edit option under Text.



  3. In the Main Text message Script box, enter the message text.




    Note: A single text message is 159 characters long, if your text message goes over 159 characters it will be split into multiple messages. We offer a counter which let's you know how many characters you have left and how many messages it will take to send.

  4. Select applicable Merge Tags to add to the message. Merge Tags can be used to add dynamic information such as the participants name or appointment date and time.

  5. OPTIONAL: Add a Web Survey. Visit How to: Create a Web Survey to learn how to Send a Web Survey.

  6. OPTIONAL: Add a Media Link. Visit: How To: Add and Send Media Files to learn how to send Media files.

  7. OPTIONAL: You can add Auto Responses. Visit: How to: Add Auto-Response For Text Messages to learn how utilize Auto Replies.

Note: For a preview of the message you can press the Send Test Message  to send yourself a test version of this text, enter your phone number and press send.

  1. Once you have finished your edits, select Next  to save the changes. Once you are finished all the different message types select Save & Exit  .
