How to: Enable Notifications and Preferences for Chat


Chat notifications will alert you when you have unread chat messages waiting for a response. They can be set up as a sound, email, or text notification. These steps will walk you through setting up your notifications.

Configure Preferences for Yourself

  1. Log-in to: https://hms.teletask.com/, your email address is your username.

  2. Click on Chats   in the top menu bar.

  3. Select the Chat Settings icon  in the upper right-hand corner.



  4. In the Chat Notification Settings box that opens, check one of both of the boxes to enable your preferences. 

    1. Email and Text Notifications
      Note: Every half-hour a notification is sent with the current unread chat messages.



      1. Email Notifications - An email is generated  and sent to your email address for these notifications.

        Example Email Notification:



      2. Text Notifications - These notifications are sent to the phone number that you provided.
        Note: Please include a 1 before your 10-digit number.

    2. Sound for incoming chat - This will allow your computer to play a ding sound each time a new chat message comes in, while you are logged into the Teletask Portal. 



    3. Responding assigns me contact - This will automatically assign a chat message to you if you respond to it. It will then be viewable under the My Assignments section of chat. This helps your team know which chat messages are still waiting to for a response.



  5. These changes are instantaneous and do not require confirmation. Click anywhere on the page to close out of the  Chat Notification Settings box.


Configure Preferences for Your Staff

  1. Log-in to: https://hms.teletask.com/, your email address is your username.

  2. Click on Settings  in the top menu bar.

  3. Select User Profiles    from the available options.

  4. Locate the user that you want to receive the notifications.

  5. Under the Actions column select Edit  , this is to the right of their account information.

  6. ​Under the Edit User Details, scroll to the bottom. Check the boxes to enable your preferences.

    1. Receive emails for incoming chat Texts - An email is generated and sent to your email address for these notifications.

    2. Receive Texts for incoming chat Texts - These notifications are sent to the phone number that you provided.
      Note: Please include a 1 before your 10-digit number.

  7. To finalize your changes, press the Update  button. The user will now start to receive the notification reminders.
