How to: Add a New Contact through Chat

Sometimes you need to send a chat to someone who is not in your current client/contacts list. These steps will walk you through creating a new chat message and adding that number to the contacts list.

  1. Log-in to: https://hms.teletask.com/, your email address is your username.

  2. Click on Chats   in the top menu bar.

  3. Select the New Chat icon   in the upper left-hand corner.



  4. In the To: field type the phone number you are wanting to add (no need to add a leading 1 or dashes).



  5. In the Type your message here... field, type your message.



  6. Choose either Send + Assign me, Send + Close, or the Send button to send the message.
    Note: The Send + Assign me option allows you to receive notifications when the client responds to the message. To enable notifications visit:  How to: Enable Notifications and Preferences for Chat



  7. In the Confirmation! box that appears, choose Yes to add the new contact.



  8. The message will now be sent to your client and the phone number will be added as a contact.

    Note:
     If you want to add additional details regarding the client, you can search for their phone number under Contacts and edit their information. This way allows you to include more information such as their name or email address.
